Monthly New Moon Gatherings

Hello everyone,

It has been two wonderful and inspiring years of leading the monthly gatherings. For a variety of reasons, I have decided to shift the focus to the seasonal turning points (Solstice and Equinox) of the year as the times for these gatherings.

I will be offering four gatherings around the first New Moon of the seasonal turning. The New Moon closest to the Spring Equinox will be the first.

See below the details for March 24th event. Two of the gatherings will be held in Wonderworks and the other two will take place outdoors in a beautiful garden setting. They will be a celebration of community infused with earth-centred spiritual teachings with an experiential component offered by guests and myself.

MONTHLY NEW MOON GATHERINGS:

Our first New Moon gathering of 2009 will take place on Monday January 26 at 7pm.

Our gathering occurs on a solar eclipse and on the New Moon closest to Imbolc (the middle of the winter celebrated Sabbath). This time is the darkest and coldest part of the year yet we are told that the sap in the trees begun to flow and the seeds, deep in the earth are stirring. We too are going to rekindle our heart’s fire and desires and slowly begun to stir and awaken our inner springs.

It is time of the Maiden Goddess and we’ll explore her blessings and gifts.

Our second New Moon Gathering will occur on Thursday February 26 at 7pm

This will be the last New Moon of Winter. A time of letting go of winter blues and preparing ourselves to spring forth with our unique, inspired and creative selves.

More dates to be announce soon.

I am happy to announce the continuation of our New Moon Gatherings through 2009

Monthly New Moon Gatherings

If timing is everything then the new moon is an important time to start new projects in order to realize one's potential.
This is a time to attune and align yourself to the unique monthly energy that can support you in your quest for personal growth. The moon is symbolically seen as re-enacting a pattern that associates her with the processes of nature (birth, growth, death and rebirth) and encapsulates the energy and spiritual opportunity of the month. Accordingly many traditions align their various celebrations and rituals with the new moon.

Close to the new moon of every month you can join us at WonderWorks, in Toronto (www.gowonderworks.com), to take part in teachings and celebrations of that particular moon.. Just like every moon has its unique characteristics and mood, each gathering will offer specific teachings and guidelines for participants to use.

My intention is to create an inspiring and supportive monthly event that offers insights and practical tools to promote the desired change or project you want to bring forth. These monthly gatherings are open to anyone and you are welcome to drop in on any moon.

Few highlights of the 2007 gatherings (2008 coming shortly)

Our first New Moon Gathering: March 22nd

' Aligning ourselves to our unborn seeds of our potential '
This new moon carries the essence of Spring and the perfect timing of initiating a new cycle of life and healing.

An intention towards starting a new cycle of transformation in your life can be observed and practiced. Through reflecting upon the symbolism of a variety of traditions my teachings will focus on this pregnant moment 'in this space called time and this place called earth'.

My guest presenter is Michele Reiff, a meditation and yoga teacher with thirty years of experience who will lead you into your body wisdom and intuitive-will to help facilitate mindfulness as a tool to accompany you on the journey.
If it is in your heart and mind to bring healing to yourself, to the earth and all her inhabitance then this is a great opportunity to reclaim connection, reverence and relatedness through attunement and ritual.

TESTIMONIAL OF OUR FIRST MONTHLY NEW MOON GATHERING

Our first gathering took place on Thursday evening March 22nd, 2007 at WonderWorks.

I welcomed everyone and asked them to share a story or a thought about their relationship to the Moon. They all had a Moon’ story to tell, and expressed a desire to know more about it.

I quoted Pascal who said: “Worldly things need to be known to be loved; heavenly things need to be loved to be known”.
The fascination and connection to the Moon as expressed by all participants is going to be the fertile ground that will support us as we explore the Moon’s mysteries and teachings the next twelve moons.

Every New Moon has unique attributes because of the particular season it is in, the holiday it accompanies, the Hebrew letter connected to it and the astrological sign it resides.

Our first gathering was close to the first New Moon of Spring
The Moon resided in the astrological sign of Pisces.
My teachings were focused on the actual path of the Moon in the sky. ”The lunation cycle”.
We practiced breathing and “letter meditation”.
We worked with pictures and words to create a personal Mandala that reflected our experience.

Spring into action by igniting your sparks of creativity.

This particular Moon is infused with the fiery energy of both Sun and Moon in Aries.
It is also time to move from imagining and dreaming the future to practical application.

TESTIMONIAL OF OUR SECOND MONTHLY MOON GATHERING

Our second gathering took place on Monday April 16, 2007 at WonderWorks.

My intention for the evening was to tap into this dynamic high-spirited moment when The Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto were all residing in astrological fire signs.

My teachings were about the four elements: water, earth, fire and air and their connections to our life.

Later, my guest, the wonderful dance teacher, Phyllis Whyte help us activate and ground this four folds elemental wisdom into our bodies.

New Moon Gathering on Thursday, May 17th

Understanding the secrets of transformative thinking.

This particular New Moon, the third and last moon of the Spring season, falls between two full moons in May, second one being a Blue Moon. The Moon symbolizes the cycle of transformation, the capacity of one thing to change into another.
My teaching will focus on the three phases of the moon (waxing, full and waning)and their correspondence to the Feminine principle personified by the Triple Moon Goddess myths.
"Our great symbol for the Goddess is the moon, whose three aspects reflect the three stages in women's lives and whose cycles of waxing and waning coincide with women's menstrual cycles". Carol P. Christ

TESTIMONIAL OF OUR THIRD MONTHLY MOON GATHERING

Our third New Moon Gathering took place on Thursday May 17th, 2007 at WonderWorks.
I asked participants about their relationship to the symbolic meaning of the moon phases.
I spoke about the waxing moon as the maiden part of our lives, the fullmoon as the mother and middle life and last about the waning and the crone time of life.
Later I taught a symbolic action on the New Moon about bringing forth an intention.
The gathering was very alive and interactive.

Update of other gatherings and testimonials are coming up. Watch for an update of other monthly moon gatherings and testimonials.
